About This Event / イベントについて
The 生國魂祭 (Ikutama-sai) is one of Osaka's Top 3 Summer Festivals and the earliest of them each year. Over two days at Ikutama Shrine — Osaka's oldest — a procession of roughly 700 attendants carries portable shrines (御鳳輿) and pillow-taiko drums (枕太鼓) on a 渡御 from the shrine to Osaka Castle and back.
The climax is the 御練 (oreneri) procession starting at 19:00 both nights. Around 1,000 street stalls line the shrine approach — one of Osaka's largest yatai gatherings — making it a feast of food as well as tradition. Entry is free.
生國魂祭は大阪三大夏祭りのひとつで、毎年その先陣を切る祭りです。大阪最古の生國魂神社で2日間にわたり、約700人の奉仕者が御鳳輿と枕太鼓を担いで神社から大阪城まで渡御し、戻ります。
クライマックスは両日19時開始の御練。参道には約1,000軒の露店が並び、大阪有数の屋台の規模を誇ります。伝統と並んでグルメも楽しめる祭り。参拝無料。
